Dragon Force
Dragon Force
The Mission: To raise awareness of the community's need, to encourage student service, and to provide information to those students who wish to serve as volunteers in the Round Rock area and beyond.
The Vision: RRHS Dragon Force community service organization would like every student to volunteer for 20 hours of community service each year.
2026-2027 Deadlines:
Summer hours are due September 30, 2026
Senior hours are due April 12, 2027
Hours for Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen are due by the last day of school on May 27, 2027.
The requirement to receive the service honor cord for graduation is the completion of 80 community service hours by April of their senior year and a current PTSA membership*. The hours can be accumulated in any fashion; (i.e. all in one year or spread over four years), as long as hours are turned in by their submission deadlines (see below). In addition, in order for service hours to be counted toward a service honor cord, students must:
Perform work for a non-profit organization (for-profit type organizations, e.g. hospitals, or nursing homes will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Also, while many for-profit organizations perform philanthropic work, volunteer hours completed through these groups WILL NOT count towards Dragon Force hours);
Complete the work for neither money nor credit;
Perform work outside of regular school hours (some exceptions may be permitted with prior approval);
List hours worked on a daily basis as performed unless it is the same activity, within the same week, and during the same block of time every day;
To receive an honor cord, students must be an RRHS PTSA member each year they attend RRHS.
Transition Plan (Grandfathering):
Class of 2030 (Freshmen this year): Must maintain PTSA membership all four years.
Class of 2029 & 2028 (Sophomores & Juniors): Grandfathered under the previous policy. PTSA membership is only required during their senior year, though membership in earlier years is strongly encouraged.
Class of 2027 (Seniors): Must be a PTSA member during their senior year and complete the 80-hour volunteer requirement.
Why the change? Dragon Force is a PTSA-sponsored recognition program, and annual memberships help fund the honor cords and other student programs while supporting the RRHS community.
